The National Centre for Marine Sciences affiliated to the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS) has been conducting tests for 35 years to determine the situation of 26 spots along the Lebanese coastline.

 

The results of 2019 came in and were not surprising in terms of the pollution rates that affected the Lebanese beaches.

 

While 14 spots were proved to be clean, not contaminated and fit for swimming in North Lebanon, Mount Lebanon, Chouf and South Lebanon, the results showed other spots marked as wary and critical.
