Economic bodies calls for conducting careful study of measures to confront pandemic

Lebanon’s economic bodies issued on Monday a statement in which they expressed their absolute rejection to any decision that might be taken by the government to shut down the whole country in order to curb in the spread of Coronavirus.

The bodies warned against the tremendous repercussions of closing the private sector that “cannot be contained on the economic and social levels.”

They also stressed importance of conducting a careful study of the measures that will be taken to confront the epidemic, mainly in light of the harsh conditions that Lebanon is going through economically," calling on the government to strictly implement the measures it had taken and confront the real causes of the outbreak.
