President Aoun chairs meeting over medicines crisis

President Michel Aoun held on Thursday a meeting with Caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab, Caretaker Finance Minister Ghazi Wazni, Caretaker Heath Minister Hamad Hassan and Central Bank Governor Riyad Salameh at the Baabda Presidential Palace over the medicine crisis and ways to limit its repercussions.

It was agreed during the meeting to continue the policy of subsidizing medicine and medical supplies and implants within an applied mechanism that notes the priority specified by the Health Ministry and noted in the rationalization plan submitted by Premier Diab to the Parliament.

In addition, it was agreed on the need to support the national pharmaceutical industries in coordination between the Health Ministry and the Syndicate of Lebanese Serum and Pharmaceutical Industry.
