Man who tried to set a bank on fire freed on bail-[PHOTOS]

Judge Amani Salameh freed on Thursday Abdallah al-Sahi on a 200,000 LBP bail.

al-Sahi was arrested nearly two weeks ago after threatening to burn down a bank if he didn't get all of his deposits back; a deposit that has since been returned to him.

Lebanon has been suffering from an economic crisis and a fluctuating USD exchange rate since 2020.

This crisis has impacted the purchasing power of the Lebanese people, with more than half of Lebanon's population now classified as poor.

Since the beginning of the crisis, banks have refused to return their clients' deposits, particularly those in USD, and have imposed various measures to limit withdrawals in both USD and LBP.
