Berri: Arab League’s decision can be redressed

Speaker Nabih Berri told Al-Joumhouria daily that the decision taken by the Arab League to suspend Syria can be redressed. “No Arab country can deny another one its Arabism, let alone a country such as Syria so anchored in the Arab vibrant heart”, Berri said.

Berri added that the president is working hard to reawaken national dialogue, stressing that they both agreed on some measures that will create the appropriate environment to convene for the dialogue sessions.

“The dialogue should look into ways to shield the country from the negative repercussions of the regional events”, Berri said.

Berri also voiced fears over the repercussions from the overall situation in light of the Arab League’s decision to suspend Syria’s membership.
