Cardinal Rai: March 8 and March 14 are dragging Lebanon into Syrian crisis

                 
Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Rai celebrated the Sunday Mass in Our Lady of Lebanon basilica-Harissa on the occasion of its re-inauguration.                        

It is worth noting that the mass was celebrated in the presence of President Michel Sleiman, First Lady Wafaa Sleiman, Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam as well as Lebanese deputies and ministers.        

In this regard, Cardinal Rai stressed that the long simmering disputes between the March 8 and March 14 coalitions "have tarnished the image of Lebanon, disrupted the parliamentary elections, and are currently hurdling the formation of the new government, and dragging Lebanon into the Syrian crisis.         

Cardinal Rai also reiterated his support to President Michel Sleiman and to PM-Designate Salam, calling for a 'rescue initiative' in a bid to maintain Lebanon's security and sovereignty.
