Three of Beirut serial killers to be released soon

Security sources told LBCI on Friday that they expect the release of the three brothers initially suspected in the serial killings.

Investigations proved that George and Michel Tanalian are the sole involved in the crimes and that their mother and brothers had no clue about the crimes they had committed.

The sources added that George was the one who shot most of the victims after noticing that his brother Michel was always drunk, thus could not aim right.

The sources revealed that Michel only pulled the trigger in three crimes, adding that the only motive identified so far is “theft”.

The ISF arrested on Tuesday 5 brothers suspected in the string of killings that have plagued Beirut and its suburbs since August. The arrests were made after security forces collected evidence from 11 separate murders in recent months.

In a special press conference on Tuesday to discuss the case, Charbel stated that the 5 brothers, living in the same building, were arrested: Michel, Georges, Aziz, Moussa and Maurice Tanilian, known also as the Bou Hanna family. The brothers all hail from Syria but Aziz, Moussa and Maurice hold the Lebanese citizenship.
