Charbel launches Adlieh control room

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel stressed on Saturday, during the launching of the control room in Adlieh telecom switch, that the room aims at serving security and justice.

The control room comprehends several rooms of the 7th and 8th floor of the telecom switch and 45 computers. Representatives of the LAF, ISF, State security and General security will be operating in this room which will be directly linked to the interior minister.  The telecommunication ministry is also represented in the control room whose cost has reached 20 million dollars.

The control room will be operating according to law 99/140, involving two types of wiretapping: first, judicial wiretapping which aims at investigating crimes and determining the identity of the perpetrators and accomplices.
Second, administrative wiretapping which aims at gathering information related to national security and warding off all threats posed to state and community.
