PM-Designate Salam voices concern over potential vacuum in several institutions

President Michel Sleiman held a meeting on Thursday at the Baabda Palace with Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam, with talks featuring high on the latest consultations over the formation of the new government, the state-run National News Agency reported.

Following the meeting, Prime Minister-Designate Salam said that more efforts need to be exerted, and voiced his concern over a potential vacuum in several Lebanese institutions, "which will take a toll on Lebanon".

"I do not want to fail the people and I am still keen on the formation of a new government of national interest," Salam added.

It is worth noting that President Sleiman met earlier with caretaker Information Minister Walid al-Daouq.

No further details were provided.
