Shepherd finds dead body in irrigation canal

A shepherd in Zahle’s Dalhamiyeh region found on Wednesday the body of a dead man dumped in an irrigation canal.

The shepherd contacted security forces who immediately rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area as forensic experts began gathering evidence.

Primary evidence showed that the body was blindfolded and handcuffed, and was stabbed more than once both in the heart and the neck.

A coroner at the scene said the body which had sustained more than 12 wounds, belonged to a 55-year-old man and mentioned that the crime occurred at around 4 am.

It is worth noting that the body was transported to the Elias Herawi governmental hospital, and investigations are ongoing to reveal the circumstances behind the crime.
