EDL contract workers suspend their sit-in in Corniche el-Nahr

Electricité du Liban contract workers suspended on Friday their sit-in after the installment of the time attendance machine in the EDL company located in Corniche el-Nahr.

This comes after EDL contract workers burned tires and set garbage containers on fire before the sea-side entrance of the company, the state-run National News Agency reported on Thursday.

EDL contract workers have been protesting for months calling on the government to employ them as full-time staff and to pay their salaries. Their protests have included shutting the gates of EDL headquarters in Beirut and disrupting normal work at the state-run company.
