Al-Jamaa al-Islamiya holds supportive sit-in with Egypt's Brotherhood

Lebanon's Al-Jamaa al-Islamiya party held a protest on Friday in Tripoli in solidarity with Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood.

In this regard, protestors hoisted banners in a show of support with Egypt's pro-Morsi demonstrators, and called for nationwide rallies for "the legitimately elected authority."

On Wednesday the 14th of August, the party held a similar protest before the Egyptian embassy in Beirut in support of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The party's political bureau member Assaad Harmoush said he supports democracy against "the terrorism carried out by Egypt's ruling party," and called on Lebanese political factions to adopt a definitive stance in regards to the events taking place in Egypt.
