Beirut MPs hold meeting over preventive security measures

Beirut MPs held on Monday an extraordinary meeting at Parliament to tackle issues pertaining to preventive security measures to be adopted by Beirut city, and to discuss a political decision related to placing cameras across different streets and areas in line with preventive security measures.

The attendees also discussed the necessity of boosting the performance of municipal guards.

Lebanon is witnessing security tensions and violence resulting from Syria's civil war, which has sharply polarized the country along sectarian lines and between supporters and opponents of the regime of President Bashar Assad.
