Houri to LBCI: Rocket fire into Israel a rejected regional message

Future bloc MP Ammar Houri described on Tuesday the launching of rockets into north Israel as “dangerous”, adding that it reflects “a regional message.”    

Houri stressed that “this message, that uses Lebanon as a platform, is rejected, be it Iranian or Syrian.” Houri told Nharkom Said TV show that “it is the responsibility of the government and the LAF [operating] in the south of Litani to deter such incidents in line with Resolution 1701.”    

Commenting on regional and domestic issues, Houri said “the Assad regime favors the survival of the Mikati cabinet,” adding that “our cabinet is dead; we still have to announce the death and the funeral ceremony.”    

In his concluding remarks, Houri ruled out that the cabinet will approve the STL funding, “given that Hezbollah will oppose it,” adding that “Mikati faces the only option of resigning.”    

Four rockets were fired from southern Lebanon into Israel, prompting the Israeli army to retaliate by firing similar rockets into the southern village of Aita al-Shaab, early Tuesday morning.
