MEA says service uninterrupted by strike action, Nahhas will broker a deal

Middle East Airlines said that the company is maintaining service to multiple destinations despite the strike carried out by the pilots’ union. Flights to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Jeddah and Riyadh have gotten off the ground on Wednesday.

The company issued a statement saying that MEA passengers boarding their flights during the strike will see uninterrupted service, whether on an MEA aircraft or that of another company. The statement urged passengers to check with their travel agent or contact MEA for further information.

Following his meeting with a delegation from the pilots’ union and representatives from MEA, Labor Minister Charbel Nahhas stressed that the ministry will spare no effort to boost the chances of successfully brokering a deal between the union and the company’s administrative board. Nahhas scheduled a cabinet session for Friday at 2 p.m., adding that the appropriate documents should be provided before the session is held.
