Shell from Syrian side hits Akkar, leaves 3 LAF soldiers injured

Three Lebanese Armed Forces soldiers were wounded late Saturday after a shell from the Syrian side landed near their post in the northern Akkar district, the state-run National News Agency reported.

The agency added that the shell hit the town of al-Noura where the soldiers have a base, noting that the three victims were transferred to a nearby hospital in Qobayat.

Shelling from the Syrian side has also damaged other Lebanese border towns which have bore the brunt of the cross-border attacks.

This comes as a result of the fighting taking place in Syria between Syrian government troops and rebels seeking to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad.
