Mikati receives official visit request from French counterpart

French Ambassador to Lebanon Denis Pietton handed PM Najib Mikati an official invitation to visit France from his French counterpart Francois Fillion.

Following his meeting with Mikati, Pietton said that he handed the Lebanese Premier a letter including an official invitation to visit France soon. The letter added that French President Nicolas Sarkozy would like to seize this visit to congratulate Mikati on funding the STL.

Pietton voiced hope that this visit, which will be scheduled later on, will be an opportunity to discuss a number of issues that are of interest to both Lebanon and France and reinforce bilateral ties.
