Maj. Gen. Ibrahim tells LBCI he will return to Beirut via Turkey

The Director General of General Security Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim told LBCI on Thursday that he will return to Beirut via Turkey where he is set to meet with the negotiators in the case of the Lebanese hostages held in Syria’s Aazaz.

In this context, caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel had stressed earlier that Maj. Gen. Ibrahim left for Turkey after he received a phone call from the Turkish authorities.

Eleven Lebanese pilgrims were kidnapped on their way back from Iran by insurgents hoping to use them for a prisoner swap on the 22nd of May. Only two have so far been released.
