MP Torsarkissian to LBCI: Berri must hold meeting to proceed with agenda at hand

MP Serge Torsarkissian declared Monday that no change will occur in the formation of the parliament’s committee, stressing that he will attend the legislative session scheduled for Tuesday to elect members of the committee, in accordance with the Constitution.

In a statement via Nharkom Said show on LBCI, Torsarkissian called on Speaker Nabih Berri to proceed with a meeting to decide on the outstanding issues included in the agenda at hand, as soon as the reelection of the parliament’s committee is over, stressing that legislation under a caretaker government happens only when necessary.

Concerning the oil issue, MP Serge Torsarkissian said that caretaker Energy Minister Gebran Bassil and Berri are not the sole decision-makers in this matter, but the whole government must be concerned.
