Aoun: Those thinking the change process could go against our will are wrong

Head of Change Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun said that "the dream of change is great and achieving it is even greater, but it is not easy since such a dream requires continuous efforts and lots of sacrifices." He pointed out that the opposing forces are still able to provoke violent reactions in order to keep their influential power.

During a conference held at Sagesse University on Saturday, Aoun noted that "if change was a theory and a convenient intellectual process, it would have been hard to implement and reach since it would have gone against the current regime and its traditions."

In his speech, Aoun called for the breaking of sectarian and confessional walls, which are leading the country into chaos, stressing that neither the Maronite ruled  in former regime, nor the Sunni is governing in the current one.

In this context, MP Aoun clarified that liberalization is an urgent condition and change comes as its expression in public and private sectors.

"Those thinking the change process could go against our will are wrong," Aoun added, noting that when change occurred in Taef Accord, it dragged Lebanon into several crises affecting social and economic sectors.
