Caretaker PM Mikati meets Emir of Qatar, tackles regional developments

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati stressed on Wednesday that his visit to Qatar and discussions held with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani as well as senior Qatari officials, have revived bilateral relations.

Talks featured high on regional developments and the situation of the Lebanese people in Qatar, with Qatari officials stressing that they are receiving hospitality in their country.

Officials also tackled the Syrian crisis' repercussions on Lebanon, the means to support Lebanon in addressing the file of Syrian refugees and to revive joint agreements between both countries.

Earlier, Mikati along with a Lebanese delegation arrived to Qatar and were received by the Qatari Prime Minister Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The Lebanese delegation was comprised of caretaker Foreign Affairs Ministers Adnan Mansour, caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour, caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel, caretaker Trade and Economy Minister Nicolas Nahhas, and the Director General of General Security Major General Abbas Ibrahim.
