Aoun: Bkerke summit is political, we will discuss electoral law

Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun said that the summit to be held next Friday at Bkerke is a political summit, adding that he will participate in it to discuss the electoral law.      

Following his bloc’s meeting in Rabiyeh, Aoun mentioned the attack that targeted the head of the Military Prosecution Tribunal, Judge Alice Chaptini. He said that his bloc is not mentioning this issue because it is leaving it to the concerned authorities.       

On whether he fears the repercussions of the Syrian crisis on the Lebanese security, Aoun acknowledged that these repercussions are starting to be seen in Akkar, hoping that this issue will be settled.         

On the French Foreign Ministry’s accusation that Syria is behind the blast targeting UNIFIL, Aoun said that this accusation is political, adding that March 14 forces taught France how to throw political accusations.        

On the other hand, Aoun praised the nationality reinstatement law 7 years after it was submitted and the VAT decree after four years. He mentioned that his bloc is the one who submitted both these projects.
