Abboud: Hotel reservations exceeded 105%

Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud said Sunday that hotel reservations exceeded 105% during the holiday season, adding that touristic prosperity during holiday seasons is not enough. “Lebanon is in permanent need of the touristic sector’s support”.

Abboud told Sawt Lobnan radio that his ministry is fully prepared, warning violators of dire repercussions in case of serving alcohol to minors on New Year’s Eve or taking advantage of tourists.

“The tourism police will be present to deal with any attempt of infraction or fraud”, he said, calling on the owners of hotels and restaurants to set the prices of food and beverages in advance to prevent any misunderstanding with clients.

Abboud warned that any attempt to increase prices on New Year’s Eve and during the holiday seasons will be severely punished.
