Speaker Berri says new cabinet should lead to reform

Speaker Nabih Berri said his determination to form a new government stems from his keenness on Lebanon's interest, noting that he will do his utmost to narrow differences.

"Not only the new cabinet should be considered as a breakthrough on the political level, but also it must lead to reform," Berri said on Wednesday.

He added that reform could be carried out through the fair rotation of ministerial portfolios.

Earlier, Speaker Berri held a meeting with caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour in Ain al-Tineh where they discussed the latest developments regarding the cabinet formation process.

Following the meeting, Abou Faour left without making any statement.
