Hariri: Lebanon is for us all

Protracted talks between Lebanon’s Former PM Saad Hariri, Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu took place in Ankara on Wednesday.

Hariri called on Syria to stop the bloodshed, adding that he does not regard Syria’s signature of the Arab League initiative as a positive step. “Signing the protocol means agreeing on all of its clauses whether they are related to ending the bloodshed or releasing the detainees”, Hariri said.

Hariri stressed that the problem lies in the fact that some, especially Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem, explained that signing the protocol only means that observers will be allowed into Syria, wondering “who will monitor the observers?”

On the domestic front, Hariri added that every Lebanese citizen should remain under the control of the State and the LAF. “Everyone should know that this country is for us all and no one can intimidate or eliminate the other party”, Hariri said.
