Arsal residents said they will work on the formation of a committee to look into urgent incidents that may take place amid the current security situation in the town and the surrounding areas.
They also said efforts are being exerted to hold a meeting with President Michel Sleiman, Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam and caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati.

Following Friday’s meeting held at the Arsal municipality, residents stressed that "anyone who breaches security will be held responsible for his actions," noting that they will not be involved in this regard.

The residents also voiced their support to the security institutions, especially the Lebanese Armed Forces.

In this regard, a statement was released declaring the resident's decision to ban armed Syrian refugees from roaming the streets of the town and the surrounding areas, urging the security forces to assume their duties and to protect Arsal’s residents.
