Judge Sawan interrogates 3 suspects for having links to ISIL

Military investigating Judge Fadi Sawan interrogated on Monday three suspects arrested in the northern village of Wadi Khaled.

The men were identified as: Abdel Majid Meidan, Mohammad Ali and Alaa al-Mohammad on charges of belonging to a terrorist organization under the name of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and plotting to carry out terrorist operations.

Judge Sawan issued an arrest warrant against the three arrestees and an arrest warrant in absentia against Omar al-Satem who remains at large in Syria.

Prior to their arrest, the three were traced as having moved to the Syrian town of Yabroud and Rima Farms where they met with ISIL's leader who gave them "lessons" in "Takfiri doctrine, meanings and prayers."

He had reportedly also granted them directives in order to carry out terrorist attacks against Lebanon's Shiites, Christians and Druze as well as the Lebanese Armed Forces.The LAF managed to arrest the three men shortly after their return to Lebanon.
