Health ministry says would not hesitate to withdraw any medicine from market to preserve public safety

The Ministry of Health issued a statement on Friday whereby it said that any medication might be of harm if not used as prescribed.

The statement comes in response to circulated media information about the risks of using some medications, an issue that horrified citizens who take these pills.

"Citizens should know that any medication might be of harm if not taken as prescribed [by a doctor], in terms of the amount of medicine or the period that it should be taken for," the statement said, adding that all medicines have side effects, some of which might be dangerous.

"It is of the Public Health Ministry's concern to confirm to the citizens that it vigorously follows up on the latest scientific researches and warnings issued by the International Health Organization and other trusted sources, and it would not hesitate to withdraw any medicine from the market, when necessary, to preserve public safety, as it has done many times before" the statement said.
