The arrestees were identified by their initials as N.S (Lebanese), A.G. (Syrian) and S.I (Egyptian).
Following their arrest, they confessed to have collected information about the notary and her son from social media networks, and planned to kidnap him for ransom.
They also said that they borrowed an Internal Security Forces uniform, and mentioned that they attempted to forge registration plates to use them in the abduction.
According to the Lebanese Armed Forces statement, investigations are underway with the arrestees to reveal whether they were involved in other crimes.
