Former PM Mikati condemns situation in Tripoli, voices support to LAF
Former Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned on Sunday the state of insecurity in Tripoli, calling on all parties to stop destabilizing the city, the state-run National News Agency reported.

“Chances are still available for ending rounds of violence in Tripoli, especially after the approval of the policy statement and the vote of confidence in the government,” he added.

This comes after Mikati held a series of contacts with Tripoli’s leaders and figures in a bid to address the security situation and restore calm.

He also urged the security forces to take all necessary measures to quell the situation in the northern city, voicing his support to all efforts exerted by the Lebanese Armed Forces.
