Ambassador Rokenabadi visits Syria’s FM Moallem in AUBMC

Iranian ambassador to Lebanon Ghadanfar Rokenabadi, representing Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, visited on Sunday Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC).

The Ambassador also met with the family of al-Moallem and Syria's ambassador to Lebanon, Ali Abdul-Karim Ali, hoping that Syria’s FM will recover soon.

In turn, the Syrian Ambassador said the doctors were satisfied with the result of the operation, stressing that the health condition of al-Moallem will return to normal during the next few days.

Lebanese security officials said on Friday that Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem has been rushed to a Beirut hospital and is undergoing treatment there.

The officials didn't say when al-Moallem, who is in his 70s, was brought to the AUBMC. They spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations.
