MP Sami Gemayel says Lebanon being held hostage by armed groups
Kataeb Party's Central Committee Coordinator MP Sami Gemayel said Thursday that March 14’s participation in the cabinet aims at cooperating with those who serve the country’s interests, not to be partners with the parties destroying Lebanon.

“March 14 forces will keep on calling for monitoring the borders from both sides to prevent fighters and suicide bombers from crossing into Lebanon,” he stressed.

In his speech during the parliamentary session, the deputy noted that March 14 forces have warned against the repercussions of failing to disassociate Lebanon from the Syrian conflict and against the danger of using illegal weapons.

“We no longer live in a country, but in a jungle, because a country has borders and the state is responsible for monitoring them,” he added.

MP Gemayel noted that the policy statement holds confusion and ambiguity concerning the state’s authority and the issue of the use of weapons in Lebanon.

On another note, Gemayel said that Lebanon has become held hostage by the armed groups, pointing out that the state decided to surrender, leading the country toward chaos and destruction. He concluded by saying that he will grant the cabinet a vote of confidence.
