Financial Prosecutor Ibrahim charges NSSF employees with embezzlement
Financial Prosecutor Judge Ali Ibrahim charged on Wednesday a number of National Social Security Fund (NSSF) employees with the embezzlement of public funds, the state-run National News Agency reported.

The charges against employees tasked with operations at the NSSF and others from its inspection bureau, include embezzlement from the Fund, bribes, forgery and incitement to commit arson.

The suspects were referred to Beirut Examining Magistrate Judge Ghassan Oueidat.

On Saturday, Internal Security Forces members deployed near the National Social Security Fund building in Wata el-Msaytbeh and launched an investigation over public funds embezzlement.

A judicial source told LBCI that ISF members were investigating reports of embezzlement of public funds by employees.

The same source told LBCI that various employees are involved in the National Social Security Fund case, adding that a shop facing the NSSF building was closed.
