Shelling in Tripoli's Bab al-Tabbaneh leaves one child killed

A child was killed on Wednesday when a shell landed near Khalil al-Rahman Mosque in Tripoli's Bab al-Tabbaneh.

11-year-old Ahmad Khaled al-Sayyed was killed and 3 other children were wounded while citizen Mahmoud Fakhreddine suffered a head wound and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, heavy gunfire is reported on the international highway linking Tripoli to Akkar.

In this regard, a number of protesters blocked the road in Tripoli's Badawi, calling on the citizens not to cross the highway due to heavy sniping operations.

Later on, a stun grenade was thrown at Syria Street in the northern city of Tripoli.

Also on Wednesday, citizen Hassan Ali Mazloum, was shot dead by unknown assailants while driving near al-Taqwa mosque in Tripoli, causing him to lose control over his vehicle and run over a woman and her son.

The body of Mazloum was then pulled out of the vehicle and tortured.
