Freed Aazaz hostages to be honored in Qatar’s Doha- sources
Sources told LBCI on Saturday that the freed Aazaz hostages headed to Qatar upon the invitation of the Qatari leadership.

The sources added that the Qatari leadership wants to honor them after their release.

In October 2013, nine Lebanese pilgrims abducted in Syria and two Turkish pilots held hostage in Lebanon returned home, part of an ambitious three-way deal cutting across the Syrian civil war.

Eleven Lebanese pilgrims were kidnapped on the 22nd of May 2012, on their way back from Iran by insurgents hoping to use them for a prisoner swap. Only two of them were released shortly afterwards.

The deal, negotiated by Qatar and Palestinian officials, also was meant to include freeing dozens of women held in Syrian government jails to satisfy the rebels who abducted the pilgrims.
