MP Ammar Houry to LBCI: Future movement will be the first to congratulate Aoun if elected president
Future bloc MP Ammar Houry said on Monday that former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea and Future bloc head MP Fouad Siniora reiterated during their meeting in Paris their rejection to the presidential vacuum.

Houry's comments were made during a phone call with Nharkom Said TV show in which he noted that Hariri, Geagea and Siniora respect Patriarch Bechara Rai's stance in this regard.

He also added that the Future movement will be the first to congratulate Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun in case he receives 65 votes during the election session.

Houry reiterated the need  of MPs attending the parliamentary session tasked to elect an new president to spare the country a presidential vacuum.

Lebanese parliament has failed to elect a new president due to disputes between the rival March 8 and 14 camps.

Most of the March 8 alliance's MPs have boycotted the past four rounds of elections over their call for an agreement on a consensual president and their rejection of the candidacy of Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea.

A fifth round of polls is scheduled to be held next Thursday, two days before the expiry of Sleiman's six-year tenure.
