The board of deans at the Lebanese University announced on Saturday the postponement of exams at all of the LU branches until the 9th of June.
The decision was made during an emergency meeting of the LU's deans to tackle the situation in the university amid “the neglect of its (faculty's) demands.”
The board also stressed that this decision was issued to support the professors’ interests and rightful demands, calling for a wide national campaign in solidarity with the LU’s requests.
The Lebanese University contract professors held a demonstration of Friday in the Riad el-Soleh Square, calling on the cabinet to pass a law pertaining to their full-employment at the university.
The professors said that they will not prepare the final exams and will not even correct them unless the parliament meets their demands.
