MP Alain Aoun says Tuesday's parliamentary session will face difficulties

Change and Reform bloc MP Alain Aoun said on Friday that the concerned authorities should deal "in a responsible way" with the wage scale issue, noting that a "rational" solution is required to settle this file.

In a phone call with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV show, MP Aoun said discussions held between parliamentary blocks may or may not yield positive results, pending a solution to the series of ranks and salaries.

"Tuesday's parliamentary session aimed to tackle the wage scale will face difficulties," he said, stressing that he will work on reaching consensus among the Lebanese parties.

Turning to Monday's session aimed to elect a new president, Aoun said: "If the situation remains the same, I do not expect that we will be attending the session".

"If any positive development occurs, we might participate in the session," he added.
