TL: Still awaiting Qatari Emir’s present concerning World Cup games
Head of Tele Liban's Administrative Council Talal Makdessi said on Tuesday that he is still waiting for Qatari Emir's present concerning broadcasting World Cup 2014 games.

Makdessi added that so far no negotiations have been set with the al-Jazeera Sports TV over fees related to broadcasting football games.

Last month, Minister of Youth and Sports Abdel-Muttaleb al-Hinawi announced that Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani had promised Lebanon that Tele Liban would broadcast the World Cup 2014 games, scheduled to start next Thursday.

Qatar’s state-owned BeIN, the new name for Al-Jazeera’s sports channel, posses the distribution rights for the 2014 World Cup. Currently, cable television provider Sama is the only one with the rights to air the World Cup in Lebanon and plans on charging $110 for the full package.

Tele Liban plans to air it free of charge if it gains the rights to broadcast the World Cup.
