Hariri to return before March 14, Hezbollah asks ministers to keep low profile

Senior officials in the Future movement said that former PM Saad Hariri will return to Lebanon before March 14 to prepare for the aftermath of the period that will follow the fall of Syrian President Bashar Assad.

The same sources told Al Anbaa al Kuwaitiya daily that the March 14 rally this year, which is expected to be held in Biel while the crowds gather in Martyrs’ square, will be different this year. The daily quoted the sources as saying that Hariri will call for dialogue and a comprehensive reconciliation will all political parties.

The sources added that the senior cadres in the Future movement and within March 14 parties are preparing a comprehensive political project that will lay the foundations for the upcoming period. The sources stressed that this project is expected to be presented to the Lebanese when Hariri returns.

Sources close to Hezbollah’s political sphere said that the party asked all its MPs, ministers and cadres to keep a low profile and reduce their media appearances in order to contain the anger of the people, especially the Sunnis. The sources stressed that Hezbollah does not intend to commit political suicide, “while Arab winds are blowing in a direction contrary to the desires of the party.”
