UAE advises nationals to leave Lebanon

The United Arab Emirates' foreign ministry warned on Sunday its nationals not to stay in or travel to Lebanon given the latest incidents and the volatile security situation.

Hamad Mohammad al-Juneibi, the charge d’affaires at the UAE Embassy in Beirut, urged Emiratis currently residing in Lebanon to leave the country immediately after holding contacts with the UAE embassy.

Two days ago, a suicide bomber blew himself up at a security checkpoint in Lebanon's Daher al-Baydar in the Eastern Bekaa Valley, leaving 1 person killed and up to 33 wounded, the health ministry said.

The Internal Security Forces received information on the presence of terrorist networks infiltrating the country namely for the possible assassination of Lebanon's Director General of General Security Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim who narrowly escaped the attack.
