Sleiman says Lebanon will be a "graveyard" for whoever attacks its sanctities

Former President Michel Sleiman said on Thursday that "Lebanon shall be a graveyard for whoever attacks its sanctities and citizens," regardless of their sect or political affiliation.

"The Lebanese people will stand united, like always, to prevent the implementation of such threats, which prove the takfiri identity of those issuing them," Sleiman said via his Twitter account.

"Political disputes which have prevented the implementation of constitutional entitlements shall not constitute a gap of which terrorists take advantage to carry out their threats and undermine civil peace."

Sleiman's remarks were made after the Baalbek-based Ahrar al-Sunna Brigade said via twitter on Wednesday that a jihadi group has been tasked with cleansing the Bekaa region in particular and Lebanon in general from “churches.”

The brigade added that the group will target "Crusaders" in Lebanon in order to stop church bells from ringing.
