MP Qobeissi withdraws complaint against ABL head Bassil

Liberation and Development bloc MP Hani Qobeissi announced on Monday that he has withdrawn his complaint against the head of the Association of Banks in Lebanon Francois Bassil.

MP Qobeissi said his decision came after Bassil showed respect to the Parliament and lawmakers in a speech he delivered in Jbeil.

Three months ago, lawyer Ali Rahhal representing MP Qobeissi filed a complaint against ABL head Bassil for accusing lawmakers of theft and embezzlement of public funds.

Francois Bassil had warned in remarks to An Nahar daily of a “revolution against politicians who have led Lebanon to bankruptcy.”
