Rocket fired from Shebaa village falls short in Lebanese territory

The state-run National News Agency reported that a rocket was launched on Tuesday at dawn from the outskirts of the Shabaa town, landing inside Lebanese territory.

The Lebanese army has since been combing the southern tip of Shebaa in search for the rocket platform from which the rocket was launched towards the north of the occupied Palestinian territories.

Meanwhile, Israeli reconnaissance airplanes hovered over Shebaa, the agency added.

On Saturday, the Lebanese army found in the southern region of Rashaya al-Fakhar, a launch pad that was used a week earlier to launch a rocket towards Israel. That rocket too did not reach the occupied lands.

Earlier, two rocket launch pads were found in the southern city of Tyre.

The rocket attacks from South Lebanon started amid an Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip, which left hundreds of Palestinians dead and injured.
