Police arrests killer of a Syrian boy
Police arrested on Friday a man who claims to have accidentally shot the 10-year-old Syrian boy Jaafar al-Jabal who had been reported missing by his family in the northern town of Ehden.

In a statement, the Internal Security Forces said that it arrested the family’s neighbor, a 27-year-old Lebanese national.

Al-Jabal's father, Ahmad, told police on August 31 that his son had gone missing, prompting the ISF to publish the boy's photo to determine his whereabouts.

On September 11, Al-Jabal's body was found with a gunshot wound to his neck.

Upon his arrest, the neighbor confessed to have gone on a hunting trip with Jaafar, adding that during the trip he accidentally shot him when he suddenly appeared in front of him.

He then fled the scene, fearing for his arrest.

He also said that he had changed his clothes and hid the rifle after he returned home.
