Aoun to LBCI: Wage issue should be treated from a legal perspective

Change and Reform bloc MP Alain Aoun underscored the need to treat the issue of wage adjustment from a legal perspective. Aoun told Nahrkom Saiid TV show that Labor Minister Charbel Nahhas took a legal step when he signed the wage decree that did not include transportation fees, since they are considered illegal. Aoun added that the upcoming days will witness consultations led by MP Michel Aoun to look into an appropriate solution for this issue.

Aoun confirmed that the resignation of Nahhas is not tabled, adding that the last meeting between PM Najib Mikati and the head of the Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun was political and did not result in any deal.

Speaking on the electricity issue, Aoun stressed that this problem is ancient, adding that the will to solve the problem is lacking. Aoun urged the cabinet and the Energy Ministry to find a short-term solution and new ideas.

With regards to the incidents happening on the Lebanese-Syrian border, Aoun said that these events should prompt everyone to exercise self-restraint and avoid the creation of any domestic problems. Aoun called on everyone to understand the gravity of the situation in Akkar.
