Private schools in Lebanon’s Batroun and Tripoli closed their doors on Wednesday as teachers and instructors responded to the call of head of the Private Schools Teachers Association Nehme Mahfoud.
On Tuesday, Mahfoud said a general strike will be held in all private schools on Wednesday, calling on all teachers to participate in a protest in Beirut's Riad al-Solh Square.
“Depriving teachers at private schools from the six degrees on every rank is unacceptable,” Mahfoud said, stressing that escalatory steps will be taken if the issue remains unresolved.
