PM Salam: Lebanon’s current situation stable so far

Prime Minister Tammam Salam said that the situation in Lebanon is currently stable, despite all the incidents taking place, expressing however his concern over the “immature political behavior of a number of leaders, which might the country towards a state of stagnation, while there are many ways to reach political solutions for the current crises.”

In a statement to a Lebanese radio station, Salam urged all the factions to seek settlement, pointing out that the failure to elect a new president is due to the preoccupation of the foreign powers with issues far more serious than that of Lebanon.”

In this regard, the prime minister stressed the importance of internal agreement, praising the efforts exerted by Speaker Nabih Berri in order to bring Hezbollah and the Future Movement together at the dialogue table.

Commenting on the issue of the kidnapped troops, Salam stated that “the cabinet is adopting all the means possible to release the hostages, reiterating that the Lebanese state will never give up its dignity and rights.”
