Patriarch Laham urges world to practice tolerance, slams Islamic State as ‘ideological risk’
Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All the East Gregorios III Laham has appealed to Arab and Western countries to be committed to the values of justice, tolerance and dialogue.

Laham said he is sending out this appeal as a Syrian Patriarch to his country as well as to states worldwide, saying “the way to address differences and interests must be changed”.

“We are facing a major ideological risk, i.e. the Islamic State,” the Patriarch said, adding “barbaric and brutal footage disseminated by the group is a clear strategy aiming to destroy the society through instilling fear and horror among citizens”.
