The committee of the Beirut governmental hospital employees issued a statement on Wednesday, whereby they declared “they will reopen the emergency entrance and suspend their sit-in until Thursday evening, after they were paid their delayed salaries and received promises from Health Minister Wael Abou Faour and the hospital’s administration to look into their demands.”
In this context, the statement also urged the employees not to leave the hospital on Thursday after office hours, calling on them to gather at the hospital’s hall at 5:00 pm during the meeting of the administrative council.
On Monday, the employees staged a sit-in and closed the emergency room entrance over delays in salary payments.
The hospital employees, who say they haven’t received their salaries since 24/12/2014, slammed the failure to settle their case and said they do not trust promises made in the last few days.
They also reiterated their call to fully grant them their rights, saying “we are ready to take any step through legal means”.
